It's time to either make or optimize an already existing Pinterest board!
Naming your board:
You'll want to use the keywords you've researched to name your boards. In my case, this board is named ELDER FUTHARK RUNES.
Board description:
You'll want to write at least 3-5 sentences that contain your researched keywords. Do not keyword stuff! Try to write as naturally as possible - remember we need to write not only for humans, but for the Pinterest algorithm. Add a relevant link to your website! For example, product page, category page or a relevant blog post or article from Module 3.
Adding pins to your board
You'll want to fill up your board with relevant pins only. You want to include not only your blog posts, but (relevant) products or info from your own website.
WHEN YOU START A NEW BOARD:
When you have a new product category or collection, blog category, or a massive roundup post (20+ items in the post).
PRO TIP
When you are manually creating a pin, if you have your shop connected, you will be given the option to tag a product in your pin. Do it :)
How many boards should you make?
Rule of thumb is a new board for a new blog category or a larger roundup post.
And a minimum of 1 board per type of item in your shop. Let's take a look at my product boards as an example:
So let's say you sell soap. You could (after doing the SEO research, of course) have boards setup like this:
- Floral scented soaps
- Woodsy scented soaps
- Soaps for men
- Soaps for women
- Autumn scented soaps
Alright, you see how that goes? Getting all these boards setup and SEO optimized is going to be tedious and time-consuming. Setting up my boards took an entire day. But, this right here is the work that will benefit you in the long-run.
Add as many boards as are relevant to your shop/products. If you have a separate blog (and you should!!) where you post about your target market content, make boards for those as well.
